Fair, transparent refunds
Every payment on Growlanzo is protected by escrow. This policy explains when funds are returned, how long it takes, and the steps you can take if you believe a refund is due.
General Principles
Because Growlanzo uses an escrow system, client funds never go directly to a freelancer. Money is held securely and only released when work is approved or a dispute is resolved. This structure means most refund questions are answered by the escrow status of the project:
- Funds held in escrow have not been paid to the freelancer and can be returned to the client.
- Funds released after approval are considered payment for completed work and are generally non-refundable.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method or to the Growlanzo wallet, depending on how the funds were paid and whether the escrow pool is still open.
When Refunds Apply
Escrow Not Yet Funded
If you cancel a project before funding the escrow, no money has moved. Nothing is charged, nothing needs to be refunded — the project is simply closed.
Released Milestone / Completed Work
Once escrow funds are released to the freelancer (by your approval or by automatic release after the review window), the payment is final and is not refundable, except in cases of verified fraud or clear violation of our Terms of Service. Delivered or approved-but-not-yet-released work stays held in escrow and can still go through the dispute process.
Project Canceled with Funded Escrow
If the project is canceled after escrow is funded but before work begins, the full funded amount is returned to you — Growlanzo charges no commission on a cancelled contract, because commission only applies when released work is paid. If you funded with your wallet balance, the money is credited back to your wallet instantly. If you paid by card/UPI, the refund is processed by Razorpay back to your original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days depending on your bank; the payment gateway’s own processing charge, where already incurred, may not be reversible.
Dispute Resolved in Your Favor
If a dispute is raised and resolved in your favor, the disputed escrow portion is refunded to your wallet. Our dispute resolution team reviews the available evidence before releasing any funds.
Revisions & Extra Work
Services include a stated number of free revisions (shown on the service page before ordering). If you request more revisions than included, the freelancer may charge their published extra-revision rate or a mutually agreed price — never without your consent. Revisions are not refundable once delivered and accepted; disputed revision work follows our standard dispute process.
Duplicate or Erroneous Payment
If you are charged twice for the same milestone or your payment was processed in error, we will refund the duplicate amount in full to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of confirmation.
Subscription / Pro Plan
Free trials are free — you are never charged during a trial. Paid Pro plans can be cancelled anytime; you keep Pro benefits until the end of the paid period. Refunds for paid periods are issued only if the service is unavailable due to a Growlanzo fault.
How Growlanzo prevents refunds before they happen
Our goal is simple: fair work, verified skills, and payments that land first time. Refunds are a safety net — not a feature. We keep them rare by building trust into every step:
Escrow holds every payment
Money never goes directly to a freelancer. It is released only when you approve work, or by auto-release after the review window — so there is nothing to chase after a dispute.
Free revisions first
Most issues are fixed in a revision, not a refund. Every service includes free revisions, and extra revisions are charged only with your consent.
Verified, certified freelancers
Freelancers can earn verified skill badges through our assessments and complete identity verification, so you know who you are hiring before work starts.
Fraud checks on delivery
If work evidence exists, a refund is never auto-approved. Accusations freeze the escrow instantly and our resolution team reviews every piece of evidence before any money moves.
And when a refund is genuinely due — before work, after mutual agreement, or after a fair admin decision — it is processed promptly to your wallet or original payment method. Genuine clients are always protected; only fraud and abuse are not.
Processing Timeline & How to Request
Approved escrow refunds are typically processed within 3–5 business days. Refunds to a card or bank via Razorpay may take 5–7 business days depending on your bank. Wallet refunds are instant. During dispute review, funds remain frozen until a decision is made — no refund or release happens without a resolution.
To request a refund: open the project workspace, raise a refund request on the escrow, or contact our resolution desk with the project details. We review every request with the available evidence — workspace logs, chat archives, milestone history and payment records — before any funds move.
